This Ozdilek Cabana Beach Towel was available on Vine, so I picked it up to try out.

I see this towel has gotten loads of great reviews and I wonder why. I bought this to use here at home and when we go out to the pool or beach, but the first time my husband used it, he asked me where I got it and why. He said it wouldn't absorb hardly any water at all and had a weird feeling to it. I never use liquid softener in towels because that affects the absorbency. I thought maybe something had been used on it in manufacturing, that hadn't come off when I washed it the first time, since I only washed it in cold water. I normally wash all towels, once they've been used, in hot water. So, I tried washing it in hot water and dried it with no dryer sheets. I never dry towels with drier sheets, and I've actually given those up completely since, but anyway I didn't use them. Then I took a shower and tried it, but I noticed the exact same things my husband had mentioned. It wouldn't really absorb any water and has a weird feel to it.

I've washed it a couple more times since, and it hasn't changed the texture or absorbency at all. So, I stuck it in the back of the linen closet to use as a blanket to sit on when we go to the beach. It is definitely big enough, because this towel is very large. I actually loved that about it. Unfortunately, we don't like much else.

The color is nice, blue and white stripes. The thickness is great, if it absorbed water. Because of this, I don't like the quality of this towel, and I can't speak to its cleaning ability.

Because of the issues we had with it, and because it is rather expensive, I do not think there is value here.

My partner is a huge fan of Turkish bath towels. I find them thin and clammy, so I have my own towels. I got this for her, it says Turkish right there in the name. However, upon opening it, this is a thick, fluffy towel, surprise! TIL that Turkish cotton is a thing and Turkish towels are a different thing I guess. So I had to reread the item listing a little more carefully to be fair in this review. As I mentioned, it's fluffy, it dries well and is warm, all positives in my book. It is generously large, as a tall guy I love that. So far it has been colorfast through a couple of wash cycles. However, it doesn't strike me as the most beach friendly towel, that same thickness means it would swallow sand. My only other gripe is the price, it is a nice towel but I don't know if it's a $30+ towel, though that's debatable I suppose.

I really like these large beach towels, both for actual outdoor use, as well as just for whatever towel use I have inside. It's got a good amount of room so that me as a 6ft tall guy can lay down on it. The fabric is comfortable and dries well. Aside from the very first wash with the brand new load of lint, there hasn't been an excessive lint content. If anything starts to fray or wear out, I'll update my review, but with my limited use it seems like it is pretty good quality, nothing about it yet makes me think it will be falling apart any time soon.
